To Conflate (verb): to confuse and inflate by joining 2 items that may or may not be associated with the intention to increase the importance without improving the relevance. 

Symptoms: Creating fear of the new unknown. 

Best remedy: Reasoned thinking

FRETWORK was set up to support the UK Textile sector dealing with flame retardant textiles.

The issues we address include the Rules and Regulations for Consumer Safety, Chemical Safety and the Testing of Performance Textiles.

The slide carousel to the right contains time lapse pictures of a match test in progress at 1, 4, 8, 12, 15 and 20 seconds plus ‘after removal of ignition flame’ and subsequent damage size measurement.

Please note this is a non-standard test performed under industrial conditions as part of process control practices. The operative is well trained and very experienced in these test methods. He knows the differences between this test procedure and a test made in a UKAS approved laboratory.
