THE FRETWORK FORUM

THE FRETWORK FORUM

Here we try to discuss, explain or just argue but most of all we want to inform.

Here we are trying to explain.

Good Science is made welcome and Bad Science is put into its place.

We will,  just like our Forum meetings, offer  opportunity for explanation at the scientific, technological or just plain common sense level that reflects the nature of the textile industry.

This section of the web site is directed towards the development of UNDERSTANDING.

We regularly see criticism and claims that gain their power from repetition without having any foundation in good scientific understanding.

The Supply Chain has to deal with these issues and it is our intention to offer short and simple evaluation of the issues to put thems into their proper perspective.

Please offer your comments or topic suggestions through our Contact us link

Please meet STUART.

Science, Technology, Understanding and Reasoned Thinking.

The Textile Industry has always been a mixture of Science that underpins a Technological approach to production. The Understanding of what works and how things are done is also important.

Everybody uses textiles in some form or other in their life but not everyone understands textiles.

We will use STUART to help explain.

TEXTILES ARE NOT PLASTICS

We will try to put a textile perspective on some of the things we see and read to make sure that the specifics of textiles and their role will be taken into account.

The burning behaviour of textiles is a critical aspect and our knowledge of the manufacture of textiles will be brought to bear in explaining  how the characteristics of textiles relate to this issue.

Some aspects of this will be found in the item

Why do textile fibres burn?
