European Union regulation REACH

European Union regulation REACH

REACH

REACH is the European Union regulation concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation & restriction of CHemicals. It requires substances that are used to be recognised through Registration. Once registered they are Evaluated through the assessment of hazards and exposure in different uses. Unavoidable risks will lead to a requirement for Authorisation for use and can lead to phase out and substitution by safer alternatives.

Other large countries have their own system which will use very similar principles.
